In Memoriam: Pope Francis

With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Pope Francis — a humble servant, courageous reformer, and tireless witness to the mercy of God.

The first Jesuit pope, he brought the Ignatian spirit of discernment, intellectual depth, and a missionary heart to the papacy. He lived the Jesuit motto “Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam” — for the greater glory of God — with every word, gesture, and act of compassion.

His papacy was marked by a profound call to simplicity, compassion, and care for the most vulnerable. He reminded the Church — and the world — that “the name of God is mercy”, and that we are all called to be bridge-builders in a fractured world.

From Laudato Si’ to Fratelli Tutti, his voice echoed a Gospel of love, justice, and unity — for the poor, for creation, and for all humanity.

Thank you, Holy Father, for showing us what it means to walk the way of Christ in our time. May your legacy inspire generations to come.
