We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Parents play an integral role in the life of St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School Kogarah. We aspire to work in partnership with the parent community so that the children experience a strong bond between home and school.
Parent Volunteers
Parents are always encouraged to be involved in the everyday life of the school through various activities, and the contribution they make to the fabric of the school is highly valued. Some ways that parents can be involved include:
- Assemblies and celebrations
- Sports and swimming carnivals
- Classroom helpers
- Sacramental programs
- Fundraising initiatives
Parents Families and Friends
The Parents, Family and Friends Group is an integral part in the life and culture of the school. It provides invaluable financial and practical support for the school. The Group meetings are held once a term. All parents of students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are invited to be part of this group and they can actively participate in a variety of activities throughout the school year.
Communication
The school regularly communicates with parents through newsletters, Compass updates, notes sent home, assemblies, information evenings and informal and formal meetings with teachers throughout the year.
